Role Overview

As a Campus Custodian at South College, you'll play an essential role in supporting our mission of educational excellence. Your work keeps our facilities in top condition—from classrooms and offices to common areas and grounds—ensuring every student, faculty member, and visitor enjoys a clean, healthy, and professionally maintained campus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize assigned campus buildings, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and administrative offices daily
• Remove trash and recycling, maintaining organized waste management throughout the facility
• Perform floor care, including vacuuming, sweeping, waxing, and buffing as needed
• Dust furniture, fixtures, windows, and surfaces to institutional standards
• Respond to cleaning requests and address spills or damage promptly
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good working order
• Follow health and safety protocols, including proper use of chemicals and equipment
• Coordinate with facilities staff to prioritize work and communicate issues

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent experience in custodial or facilities maintenance
• Proven ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions
• Physical stamina to perform standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive tasks throughout your shift
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic in a team environment
• Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies (training provided)
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing needs
