About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology consulting firm working on AI-driven process automation for critical infrastructure clients across Germany. Our talent team is seeking a Business Analyst for AI Process Automation (m/w/d) based in Lennestadt to join a delivery team focused on large-scale data and AI transformation projects.

This role centers on a major telecommunications client engagement, where multiple AI use cases run concurrently—from discovery and business analysis through proof-of-concept development to production deployment. You'll work with business units to understand legacy processes built over years, often documented only in individual knowledge or scattered across Excel, Access, and SharePoint solutions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct workshops, interviews, and process observations to extract requirements from minimally documented business processes
• Analyze and model current-state processes, business rules, and decision logic using BPMN notation
• Identify data objects, relationships, source systems, and key attributes underlying each process
• Map data flows and assess how data quality and availability impact requirements
• Create process diagrams, functional concepts, decision templates, and stakeholder presentations
• Own stakeholder communication and expectation management for assigned use cases
• Support business case development and guide client through AI, privacy, and data governance approvals
• Develop functional foundations for scoping, effort estimation, and proposal development
• Track dependencies and open issues; surface and resolve blockers
• Collaborate with solution architects and engineering teams to evaluate scalability across business units or regions

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Project experience in business analysis, process consulting, requirements engineering, or comparable roles
• Demonstrated experience modeling processes and decision logic, ideally with BPMN
• Strong understanding of data models and data flows: ability to identify objects, relationships, sources, and keys, and trace what happens to data at each processing step
• Foundational understanding of AI and AI-enabled automation, particularly regarding data quality, output quality, and limitations of non-deterministic systems
• Communication strength and ownership mindset: ability to advance initiatives without formal authority and engage diverse stakeholders effectively
• Fluent German (negotiation level) and English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data, automation, or AI projects
• Background in legacy or shadow IT replacement initiatives
• Experience in regulated or governance-intensive enterprise environments
• Familiarity with Scrum, SAFe, Azure DevOps, or Jira
• Knowledge of telecommunications, infrastructure, contract management, or invoice verification domains
• Exposure to Google Cloud or comparable data platforms
