Bilingual Medical Biller (English & Spanish Proficiency)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking a Bilingual Medical Biller with English and Spanish proficiency. Our talent team is looking for an experienced professional to manage end-to-end medical billing processes, ensuring accurate claim submission, timely reimbursements, and compliance with U.S. healthcare billing regulations. This remote position is based in Colombia and offers the opportunity to work with U.S. healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit accurate medical claims electronically and via paper to insurance companies
• Ensure proper coding compliance and verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to billing
• Post payments from insurance companies and patients accurately into billing systems
• Reconcile payments against claims and identify discrepancies, processing adjustments and refunds as needed
• Monitor unpaid claims and follow up with insurance companies for timely resolution
• Investigate denied or rejected claims and initiate appeals where applicable
• Track and manage aging reports to reduce outstanding balances and prioritize high-value claims
• Ensure all billing activities comply with HIPAA and payer-specific guidelines
• Maintain accurate billing records and patient information for audit purposes
• Generate regular billing and accounts receivable reports for internal review
• Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and collaborate with providers and administrative teams

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing or revenue cycle management
• Required experience working with U.S. healthcare systems and insurance payers
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal)
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field preferred
• Proficiency in medical billing software such as Kareo, AdvancedMD, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
• Experience with clearinghouses and EHR/EMR systems
• Exceptional attention to detail with high accuracy in claim preparation and data entry
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends in denials and billing issues
• Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple claims, deadlines, and follow-ups
• Proactive problem-solving approach to resolving billing discrepancies
• Stable internet connection and quiet, professional work environment
• Ability to work within U.S. business hours as required
