About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-established engineering consultancy in northern Germany with over 80 years of experience in the construction sector. Our client seeks a qualified civil engineer to lead structural design projects in commercial and industrial construction at their Hamburg location. This role offers the opportunity to take full project responsibility while working on diverse, technically demanding building projects.

The position is available in full-time or part-time capacity and can be started at the earliest convenience.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering projects for commercial and industrial buildings independently from concept through execution phases
• Develop economically viable, safe, and practical structural solutions across various building types following German engineering service phases (HOAI)
• Coordinate interfaces between clients, construction companies, and specialist planners, ensuring clear communication and decision-making
• Provide technical leadership to project teams, setting priorities while maintaining quality standards, schedules, and resource allocation
• Prepare project proposals and manage billing processes with transparency and reliability

What We're Looking For

• Completed university degree in civil engineering
• Several years of professional experience as a civil engineer, ideally in structural design for buildings
• Confident working knowledge of building codes, standards, design regulations, and structural analysis software
• Team-oriented professional eager to take on responsibility both in the office and on construction sites
• Openness to new technical areas and project types
• Clear, reliable communication skills with all project stakeholders
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken (required for day-to-day work)
