About the Role

Join a dedicated team that provides assurance services to clients in the affordable housing sector. You will help ensure financial reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational effectiveness for organizations that rely on HUD, LIHTC, and other housing‑related programs.

What You'll Do

• Plan and execute audit engagements for affordable housing developers, owners, and managers.
• Review financial statements, test internal controls, and verify compliance with federal and state housing regulations.
• Prepare clear, concise work papers and audit reports that meet CohnReznick’s quality standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and communicate findings to client management.
• Assist in the preparation of tax and advisory work papers related to housing credits and grants.
• Mentor and guide junior associates, fostering their technical growth and professional development.
• Stay current with evolving accounting standards, HUD guidelines, and industry best practices.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification or active progress toward licensure.
• 2–4 years of public accounting experience, with a focus on audit services.
• Prior exposure to affordable housing, real estate, or nonprofit entities is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail when examining complex financial data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Proficiency with audit software (e.g., CaseWare, TeamMate) and Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining a collaborative, team‑first attitude.
