Associate Principal

Clayco is hiring an Associate Principal for our Chicago office, based in The Gap. In this full-time leadership role, you'll guide major projects and client relationships across North America while upholding our commitment to delivering excellence on time and within budget.

About the Role

The Associate Principal is a strategic leadership position within our real estate development, master planning, architecture, engineering, and construction business. You'll drive project success, manage complex client engagements, mentor team members, and ensure our work exemplifies both technical excellence and operational efficiency. This position is based on-site in The Gap, Chicago.

What You'll Do

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of significant projects from inception through completion
• Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate efforts across architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines
• Build and maintain strategic client relationships, ensuring alignment with project goals and expectations
• Champion quality standards and fast-track delivery methodologies that define Clayco's reputation
• Contribute to business development and identify growth opportunities within North America markets
• Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• Proven leadership experience in real estate development, construction, or related sectors
• Strong project management capabilities and a track record of on-time, on-budget delivery
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
• Deep understanding of construction processes, building systems, or project delivery methodologies
• Strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution capability
• Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
