Join Wayne State University's College of Nursing as an Assistant Professor on the tenure track. About the Role
Wayne State University invites applications from experienced nursing educators and scholars to join our faculty in a tenure-track appointment. As a member of the College of Nursing, you'll contribute to our mission of delivering rigorous, accessible education to students from diverse backgrounds while advancing the nursing profession through scholarship and service.
What You'll Do
- Design, deliver, and continuously improve undergraduate and/or graduate nursing courses across didactic and clinical settings
- Conduct independent research or scholarship aligned with your expertise and institutional priorities
- Serve on academic committees and contribute to departmental governance
- Mentor students in their clinical development and professional growth
- Collaborate with colleagues, healthcare partners, and interdisciplinary teams
- Pursue grant funding and professional development activities
- Engage in service to the university, profession, and community
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in nursing or a related field; doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, or equivalent) preferred
- Current RN licensure and professional standing
- Evidence of effective nursing education and/or clinical expertise
- Demonstrated commitment to scholarly activity and continuous learning
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience or willingness to teach in diverse, urban healthcare environments
