About the Role
The Assistant Director of Residential Life-Operations manages critical day-to-day functions within Temple's residential housing program. This role combines administrative oversight, staff coordination, and facility management to support both students and institutional goals.
What You'll Do
- Oversee operational systems and procedures for residential facilities, ensuring compliance with university policies and safety standards
- Lead, train, and support residential staff members, including professional staff and student leaders, to deliver excellent student-centered services
- Coordinate logistics for housing assignments, check-in/check-out processes, and residential programming initiatives
- Collaborate with facilities, maintenance, and external vendors to address building needs, repairs, and upgrades
- Develop and implement operational budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost efficiencies
- Monitor residential community standards, supporting conduct and community development processes
- Contribute to assessment and continuous improvement of residential life operations and student outcomes
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field preferred
- Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in residential life, housing operations, or student affairs
- Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to supervise and mentor diverse staff members
- Strong organizational and project management abilities with attention to detail
- Experience managing budgets or financial systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to navigate complex situations with students, staff, and departments
- Knowledge of student development principles and commitment to inclusive, equitable residential communities
