AR & Collections Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing SaaS organization in their search for an AR & Collections Manager to own and scale the company's accounts receivable and collections function. This is a critical leadership role responsible for building a high-performing team, driving measurable DSO reduction, and implementing scalable processes in a high-volume billing environment experiencing rapid customer growth.

This position reports to the VP Accounting and partners closely with billing, revenue operations, sales, and customer success teams to optimize cash flow and payment operations.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the complete AR collections lifecycle from invoice delivery through payment collection, dispute resolution, and escalation across all customer accounts
• Design, implement, and continuously refine structured collections cadences including automated dunning sequences, manual outreach protocols, escalation triggers, and credit hold thresholds
• Design and monitor individual and team collection goals including DSO targets, aging reduction milestones, collection rate benchmarks, and activity metrics with weekly and monthly accountability
• Drive measurable and sustained reduction in Days Sales Outstanding through disciplined process, data-driven prioritization, and proactive account management
• Lead strategic initiatives to migrate customers from check payments to ACH/EFT, reducing manual processing costs and deposit risk
• Oversee all cash receipt processing (ACH, wire, check, credit card) ensuring accurate same-day or next-day recording in NetSuite
• Own resolution of unapplied and unidentified payments; research, match, and clear open items within defined SLA
• Manage the AR onboarding workflow for new customers including credit review, payment terms assignment, payment method enrollment, and billing account setup
• Maintain and triage AR communications inbox ensuring all customer inquiries, remittance advice, disputes, and payment confirmations are handled promptly
• Produce weekly AR flash reports and monthly aging analyses, tracking DSO, collection effectiveness index, aging trends, bad debt exposure, and payment method mix
• Design and enforce internal controls over collections, cash receipts, payment processing, and AR onboarding appropriate for high-volume SaaS environments
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of onshore and offshore AR and collections staff including collections specialists and cash receipts administrators

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CCP) a plus
• 7+ years of progressive AR and collections experience, with at least 3 years managing an AR or collections team in a high-volume environment
• Demonstrated, quantifiable track record of driving DSO reduction and improving collection rates in a SaaS or subscription business — be prepared to discuss specific metrics and outcomes
• Deep hands-on experience across the full AR lifecycle: customer collections, dispute resolution, cash application, unapplied payment resolution, credit management, and month-end close
• Experience designing and implementing collection goals, dunning strategies, and team performance frameworks
• Experience leading or participating in check-to-ACH or electronic payment migration initiatives strongly preferred
• Proficiency with NetSuite AR module required; experience with collections management software (YayPay, Kolleno, Tesorio, or similar) a strong plus
• Salesforce familiarity preferred; experience in a Salesforce–NetSuite integrated environment advantageous
• Strong command of AR analytics including DSO, CEI, aging composition, bad debt reserve methodology, and payment trend analysis
• Experience managing offshore or distributed team members including work quality oversight and cross-timezone coordination
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with confidence engaging customers, sales leadership, and senior executives on sensitive collection matters
• High sense of urgency, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, scaling environment
