Application Integration Developer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization in their search for an Application Integration Developer based in Europe. Our client is building cutting-edge platform services that require robust API integrations and automation across their enterprise systems.

This role offers the opportunity to work with modern cloud-native technologies while solving complex integration challenges across HR, finance, and business-critical systems. You'll own the full lifecycle of integration solutions—from design through production support—in a fast-paced, engineering-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based API integrations between HR information systems and business platforms including finance, travel, expense management, and recruiting tools
• Build and maintain cloud-native services, web applications, and containerized workloads on Microsoft Azure
• Implement automation for system workflows, employee onboarding/offboarding, access provisioning, and data synchronization
• Create and maintain deployment pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
• Own integrations through all stages: implementation, testing, deployment, and production support; respond to alerts and troubleshoot issues across APIs, Azure services, and data sources within defined SLAs
• Implement safeguards for sensitive employee data, including validation, audit trails, and controls around mass data changes
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and maintain comprehensive technical documentation

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 3+ years of integration or backend development experience, with hands-on experience deploying and supporting production workloads in Microsoft Azure
• Practical experience with Azure compute and integration services (Azure Functions, App Service, Container Apps, Container Instances, Service Bus, API Management)
• Strong Python development skills, including maintaining and debugging existing services and automation workflows
• Experience integrating REST APIs, webhooks, and Microsoft Graph API, with solid understanding of pagination, rate limits, retries, and idempotency
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Terraform for Azure infrastructure deployments
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, Microsoft Entra ID, and managed identities for secure authentication and service-to-service access
• Experience designing and working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or similar)
• Experience with automated testing and diagnosing production issues through logs, monitoring, and alerts

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience integrating HRIS or other business systems such as ERP, expense management, or recruiting platforms
• Azure certifications (AZ-204, AZ-900, AZ-104)
• Hands-on experience with Application Insights and Log Analytics
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools with the ability to critically evaluate their output
