About the Role

As a tailor at our Tacoma, Pierce County location, you'll be the master of fit and finish. This is hands-on work where your attention to detail directly impacts how our customers experience their clothing. You'll work closely with the alterations team to deliver timely, high-quality results on every garment that comes through our shop.

What You'll Do

• Measure customers accurately and assess garments to determine the best alterations strategy
• Fit garments on customers, identifying areas that need adjustment for proper size and comfort
• Mark alterations precisely, communicating clearly with customers about timeline and expectations
• Execute sewing alterations including hemming, tapering, taking in, and letting out garments
• Complete alterations on schedule, adhering to Nordstrom's quality and service standards
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and manage inventory of alteration materials
• Deliver personalized service that builds customer loyalty and reflects Nordstrom's commitment to excellence

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a tailor, alterations specialist, or similar garment-focused role
• Proficiency with professional sewing equipment and hand-sewing techniques
• Strong measurement and fitting skills with an eye for detail
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers about garment alterations and timelines
