Acute Rehab Registered Nurse

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Institute of Tucson is seeking a part-time Acute Rehab Registered Nurse to join our clinical team in Little Tucson, Pima County, Arizona. In this role, you'll deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients in the early stages of recovery from acute illness, surgery, or injury within a specialized rehabilitation setting.

About the Role

As an Acute Rehabilitation Registered Nurse, you'll be a vital member of our interdisciplinary care team, partnering with physicians, therapists, and support staff to guide patients toward independence and optimal recovery outcomes. This part-time position allows you to balance professional impact with scheduling flexibility.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop personalized nursing care plans in collaboration with the clinical team
• Administer medications, manage pain relief, and monitor therapeutic responses
• Perform and oversee wound care, manage drains, and care for post-surgical patients
• Monitor and document vital signs, fluid intake, and patient progress toward rehabilitation goals
• Educate patients and families on discharge planning, home safety, and post-acute care management
• Assist patients with daily living activities and mobility as part of the recovery process
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records and communicate clinical updates to the care team
• Identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition or complications

What We're Looking For

• Current, active Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Clinical nursing experience in acute care, hospital, or rehabilitation settings preferred
• Strong patient assessment skills and clinical decision-making ability
• Genuine compassion for patients and commitment to quality, individualized care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
