REMOTE Default Reporting and Analytics Analyst

Carrington Mortgage Services seeks a Default Reporting and Analytics Analyst to ensure accurate reporting and analytics for mortgage servicing portfolios supporting government programs. This full-time position based throughout the United States offers a target compensation range of $65,000 to $80,000 and focuses on managing default reporting operations and regulatory compliance.

Position Summary

In this role, you will develop and maintain reporting solutions that drive accuracy in loan servicing data for government-backed mortgage portfolios. You'll identify and resolve data discrepancies, work with default management teams on operational challenges, and ensure all reporting adheres to investor guidelines and regulatory standards. This position requires both analytical rigor and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct root-cause analyses on reporting issues and manage resolution from identification through completion, communicating any downstream implications
• Establish exception definitions and reporting requirements to ensure accurate default portfolio data
• Collaborate with default management on operational issues and data reporting errors, recommending process improvements
• Validate exception reports and source system data, identifying and flagging discrepancies
• Perform data analysis to confirm accuracy before delivery to internal and external partners
• Modify existing reports to address business needs and ad-hoc data requirements
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, procedures, and reporting workflows
• Execute additional projects and assignments as business needs arise

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience
• Minimum three years of loan servicing experience across multiple functional areas
• One or more years of experience auditing and analyzing large datasets to identify errors and inconsistencies
• Solid working knowledge of loan servicing terminology and business operations
• Ability to navigate loan servicing systems effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and other formulas
• Ability to work productively in Microsoft Outlook
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Ability to perform effectively under deadline pressure
• Sound judgment in decisions with moderate departmental impact
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work independently
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Preferred qualifications: knowledge of loss mitigation programs and default timelines; experience with Microsoft SQL programming or scripting
