Position Summary

As an Area Business Manager at Acadia, you will own the commercial success of your assigned territory, promoting FDA-approved rare disease therapeutics and emerging pipeline innovations. You'll report directly to the Regional Business Leader, executing territory strategy while fostering genuine relationships with prescribers and multidisciplinary care teams. This is a high-impact sales role that combines strategic planning, clinical education delivery, and field execution in one of pharma's most dynamic therapeutic areas.

What You'll Do

  • Execute comprehensive territory sales strategies designed to maximize awareness, adoption, and patient access to Acadia's rare disease portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers, key opinion leaders, and specialized care centers to establish product expertise and trust.
  • Deliver evidence-based educational content and therapeutic area insights to prescribers, aligned with regulatory compliance and marketing guidelines.
  • Analyze market dynamics and coverage patterns to optimize field activity and ensure efficient resource allocation within budget and governance frameworks.
  • Represent Acadia at professional conferences, patient advocacy events, and training forums to remain current on clinical advances and industry trends.
  • Support patient access initiatives by guiding providers on product utilization, pricing options, and reimbursement pathways in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Resolve provider concerns swiftly and escalate complex questions to appropriate internal departments for expedited resolution.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives spanning marketing, medical affairs, and patient support to ensure seamless provider and patient experiences.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and assume leadership responsibilities as opportunities arise within the sales organization.

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree required; life sciences background preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least one year in specialty sales with emphasis on rare disease, neurology, or related therapeutic areas.
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining relationships with complex healthcare audiences including specialists, care centers, and thought leaders.
  • Strong communication, strategic thinking, and organizational capabilities paired with a self-directed, solution-focused mindset.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively (up to 80% depending on territory geography), including overnight stays and periodic air travel.
  • Requirement to reside within the assigned territory; preference for proximity to a major airport if air travel is part of the role's geography.
  • Ability to drive daily in a company-provided vehicle and travel independently by air to headquarters, regional meetings, and national events.
  • Good standing status with FDA and OIG regulatory requirements.
