Oracle HCM Fusion Solution Architect

Michael Baker International is looking for an experienced Oracle HCM Fusion Solution Architect to drive strategic improvements to human resources technology systems across the United States. This hands-on leadership role combines technical expertise with business strategy, requiring someone who can architect solutions while advising HR leadership on system optimization and modernization.

About This Position

You'll serve as the technical expert and strategic advisor for our Oracle HCM Cloud platform. Your mission: audit our current configuration across all modules, identify enhancement opportunities, partner with HR leadership on priorities, and execute a phased modernization roadmap. You'll work at both the architecture level—designing enterprise solutions—and in hands-on development, personally building solutions that drive operational efficiency.

Your Responsibilities

• Audit Oracle HCM modules (Core HR, Payroll, Talent Management, Recruiting, Learning, Compensation, Absence Management, Time & Labor), documenting existing configurations and feature implementations.
• Identify gaps, underutilized capabilities, and modernization opportunities, including workflow automation, third-party integrations, and analytics enhancements.
• Engage HR stakeholders and end-users to understand requirements, pain points, and strategic priorities for system evolution.
• Develop and maintain a phased roadmap balancing quick wins with long-term initiatives, including resource needs and ROI projections.
• Design and deliver custom solutions using Fast Formulas, HCM Extracts, BI Publisher, Oracle AI Agents, and platform personalization features.
• Execute configurations, integrations (via HDL, SOAP/REST APIs), and comprehensive testing to ensure functionality and data integrity.
• Provide user training and ongoing support for HCM capabilities and best practices.
• Monitor Oracle product releases and industry trends to recommend proactive enhancements and upgrades.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, and business departments to ensure HCM integration with enterprise infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Availability to travel to an office location near you for an in-person final interview.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related field (Master's degree or Oracle certifications such as HCM Cloud Implementation Specialist preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and customizing Oracle HCM Cloud across multiple modules.
• Demonstrated expertise in HCM implementation and support roles, including requirements analysis, gap documentation, and roadmap development.
• Strong technical proficiency in PL/SQL, Oracle BI Publisher, HCM Data Loader, and Oracle Integration Cloud.
• Proven experience with Oracle AI Agents Studio for designing, deploying, and managing AI Agents.
• Solid understanding of HR business processes and best practices in talent acquisition, performance management, benefits administration, compensation structure, and employee lifecycle.
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving mindset focused on achieving efficiency gains through technology solutions.
• Preferred: Experience with Oracle Fusion Middleware or PaaS extensions; Oracle AI Agent Studio and HCM certifications; knowledge of data protection and compliance frameworks (GDPR, SOX); familiarity with OTBI or Oracle Analytics Cloud; excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities; project management experience; background in the engineering industry.
