Test Lead

TheHiveCareers is seeking an experienced Test Lead to oversee quality assurance efforts on strategic projects based in Trinidad and Tobago. In this full-time role, you will lead testing initiatives from conception through completion, manage a testing team, and ensure that deliverables meet both business and technical standards.

About the Role

As Test Lead, you will be the strategic owner of all quality assurance activities for assigned projects. Your responsibilities span the complete testing lifecycle—from designing a comprehensive testing approach to verifying that solutions meet defined business requirements. You'll work across teams to identify what needs testing, plan how to test it, execute the testing strategy, and report on quality metrics. This is a leadership position that requires strong technical understanding of testing disciplines, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate between business stakeholders, development teams, and project leadership.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead and direct all testing activities across the project lifecycle, from initial planning through final completion
• Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and identify gaps in functional and non-functional specifications
• Create and maintain comprehensive testing plans, securing necessary approvals from project and business leadership
• Develop and document traceability matrices to ensure all requirements are addressed by testing
• Assess testing risks and design mitigation strategies within the overall test plan
• Oversee development of test cases, test scripts, and other quality assurance documentation
• Monitor and report on test progress, including metrics and status updates to project leadership
• Track and manage defect records, assigning severity levels and monitoring resolution
• Supervise your test team through execution of test activities, retesting, and issue resolution
• Coordinate administrative support for your testing team, including system access and resource allocation
• Document and communicate testing outcomes, escalating issues that require management attention
• Prepare completion reports summarizing testing results for stakeholder review and approval
• Maintain testing documentation according to company audit and compliance requirements

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading testing efforts on enterprise or complex projects
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, including test planning, design, and execution
• Experience creating and managing test documentation such as test plans, traceability matrices, and test cases
• Demonstrated ability to identify testing risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Experience leading and mentoring testing teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in tracking and reporting quality metrics and testing progress
• Familiarity with defect tracking and management workflows
• Understanding of business requirements and how they translate to testing scope
