What This Role Involves
As a Project Engineer – Cloud & Infrastructure, you will take ownership of designing, implementing, and optimising cloud-based solutions and on-premises infrastructure. You'll work cross-functionally to bridge engineering, operations, and business objectives, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and resilient. Your technical leadership will be critical to the success of infrastructure modernisation and cloud adoption projects.
What You'll Do
- Design and deploy cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring high availability and cost efficiency
- Architect scalable solutions for storage, networking, databases, and compute resources
- Oversee infrastructure as code implementation using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate containerisation, orchestration, and microservices technologies
- Manage system monitoring, logging, and alerting to maintain performance and security
- Conduct capacity planning and optimise resource allocation across cloud and on-site environments
- Lead incident response and troubleshooting for infrastructure-related issues
- Document architecture decisions and maintain infrastructure documentation
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows server administration
- Proficiency in networking, firewalls, load balancing, and security best practices
- Experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Excellent project management and communication abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
