Harvest Lead

Prestage is seeking a Harvest Lead in Eagle Grove, Iowa, to oversee daily harvesting operations and supervise crews ensuring efficient, safe processing of poultry products at our facility.

The Opportunity

This full-time Harvest Lead role places you at the center of Prestage's Eagle Grove production operations. You'll manage the harvest area during your assigned shift, coordinate team activities, and maintain the quality and safety standards that define our processing facility. As a key supervisor, you'll bridge operations and crew, solving problems in real-time while upholding food safety compliance and production goals.

Your Responsibilities

• Supervise harvest department crew members, assign tasks, and monitor work quality and output
• Operate and troubleshoot harvest equipment, responding quickly to mechanical or processing issues
• Enforce sanitation, safety, and USDA food handling protocols throughout each shift
• Track production metrics, document incidents, and report to management
• Train new harvest team members on procedures, safety requirements, and company standards
• Communicate shift priorities with other production teams and coordinate workflow

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in poultry processing or meat processing environments
• Demonstrated supervisory or lead experience managing production crew
• Solid understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and USDA compliance
• Ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds and work in cool processing conditions
• Strong communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts as operational needs require
