Senior Azure Consultant

Phoenix Software is recruiting a Senior Azure Consultant to work on a full-time, remote basis, serving clients and operations across the United Kingdom. This is a strategic opportunity to lead cloud transformation initiatives and architect enterprise solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.

About the Role

As a Senior Azure Consultant, you will be a trusted technical advisor guiding organisations through their cloud modernisation journeys. You'll design, implement, and optimise complex Azure infrastructures, mentor technical teams, and influence architectural decisions that drive competitive advantage. Your expertise will span cloud strategy, infrastructure, security, and governance—positioning you as a go-to resource for senior stakeholders navigating digital transformation in demanding enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Assess current IT environments and develop tailored Azure migration and modernisation strategies
• Design and deliver comprehensive Azure solutions covering compute, networking, databases, security, and compliance requirements
• Architect scalable cloud infrastructures that align with business objectives and cost optimisation targets
• Lead technical teams through implementation phases, ensuring quality, security, and adherence to best practices
• Advise on cloud governance, identity management, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001, and industry-specific standards)
• Establish monitoring, optimisation, and disaster recovery frameworks to ensure business continuity
• Build and strengthen client relationships through regular strategic reviews and thought leadership

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience architecting and deploying production Azure environments across multiple industry sectors
• Deep expertise in Azure Compute (VMs, App Service, AKS), Storage, Networking, Security, and Governance
• Proven experience leading large-scale cloud migration and infrastructure modernisation programmes
• Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures and on-premises integration patterns
• Expert-level understanding of Azure security frameworks, identity (Azure AD), and compliance requirements
• Relevant Microsoft certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent) or demonstrable equivalent expertise
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and consulting skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences
