Head High School Volleyball Coach

East Haven Public Schools seeks an experienced Head High School Volleyball Coach to lead its volleyball program at East Haven High School. This full-time position offers the opportunity to develop student athletes, build a competitive team culture, and shape the future of our athletic program within the East Haven, New Haven County community.

About the Role

As Head Volleyball Coach for East Haven High School, you'll manage all aspects of the program, from player recruitment and skill development to game strategy and competitive match play. This full-time coaching role focuses on fostering athletic excellence, character development, and school pride among high school volleyball athletes.

What You'll Do

• Plan, organize, and conduct volleyball practices that build foundational skills, tactical knowledge, and team cohesion
• Prepare athletes through conditioning, strength training, and competitive drills to perform at their highest level
• Design and execute game strategies tailored to your team's strengths and competitive matchups
• Coach during regular season matches and tournament competition
• Mentor student athletes on sportsmanship, leadership, resilience, and personal growth both on and off the court
• Manage team logistics, equipment, records, and compliance with athletic program policies and state standards
• Build collaborative relationships with school administration, athletic staff, and the parent community

What We're Looking For

• Current coaching certification (required)
• Proven expertise in volleyball instruction, strategy, and high school team management
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop student athletes of varying skill levels
• Commitment to fostering athletic excellence aligned with school values and state athletic association standards
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Passion for building and sustaining a successful high school volleyball program
