About the Role
As a Maintenance Engineer with Sonesta, you'll be essential to keeping our hotels operating at peak performance. This full-time position offers the chance to work with modern facilities across diverse properties, from full-service hotels in major cities to focused brands designed for specific traveler needs. You'll take ownership of equipment, systems, and infrastructure that directly impact the guest experience.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation of all service activities
- Conduct routine inspections of building systems, safety equipment, and guest areas
- Support energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability goals across the property
- Respond to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff in a timely manner
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors on specialized maintenance and equipment upgrades
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or vocational training preferred
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, maintenance engineer, or similar facilities role
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
- Relevant certifications (EPA, EPA Section 608, or similar) are a plus
