About This Position
We're recruiting a Trainee HR Generalist to join our team in Solihull, West Midlands. This role welcomes candidates from diverse professional backgrounds—retail, customer service, administration, healthcare, education, hospitality, and similar fields—who are ready to build a career in Human Resources. You'll work alongside experienced HR professionals, developing practical expertise across the complete HR function in a supportive training environment.
What You'll Do
- Support recruitment workflows, including candidate screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding coordination
- Maintain and update employee records, process data entry, and assist with HRIS administration
- Help deliver induction programmes and support the arrival of new team members
- Provide administrative support for HR policies, documentation, and compliance activities
- Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
- Assist with payroll, benefits administration, and related compliance tasks
- Develop knowledge of HR legislation, employment law, and company procedures
Skills & Qualifications
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualification)
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Well-organised, detail-focused, and reliable approach to work
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Background in customer service or administrative roles preferred
- Genuine interest in learning HR practices and developing professional expertise
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and appropriate data handling
