Role Overview
Heritage Middle School is seeking a dedicated 7th Grade Science teacher to lead engaging, standards-aligned science instruction for middle-school learners. In this full-time position, you'll create a classroom environment where curiosity thrives, foster scientific reasoning, and support each student's academic and personal growth during this pivotal developmental stage.
Core Duties
- Design and deliver differentiated science lessons aligned with state standards and learning objectives
- Use assessment data to identify student learning gaps and adjust instruction accordingly
- Integrate technology and digital tools into daily classroom practice to enhance engagement and learning
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom culture that addresses the social and emotional needs of each student
- Assess student understanding through formative and summative assessments, and communicate progress to families
- Collaborate with colleagues to support school initiatives and student success
What You Bring
- Valid Ohio Middle Childhood (Grades 4–9) license in Science, Math, Language Arts, or Social Studies, OR an Elementary K/1–8 Certificate
- Strong knowledge of middle school learners and their developmental needs
- Demonstrated ability to address the social and emotional dimensions of learning
- Skill in using data to inform and improve instructional practice
- Competence and comfort integrating technology into the classroom experience
