About the Role
We're looking for a dedicated Head Boys Wrestling Coach to guide our high school wrestling team through training, competition, and development. In this role, you'll be responsible for coaching athletes in wrestling fundamentals, organizing team practices, managing dual meets and tournaments, and ensuring all participants meet the highest standards of athletic performance and sportsmanship. The position begins in November 2026 and remains open until filled.
What You'll Do
- Plan and conduct effective wrestling practices focused on technique, conditioning, and tactical skills
- Coach athletes during competitions, dual meets, and postseason tournaments throughout the wrestling season
- Teach proper wrestling fundamentals and safe training methods aligned with OSAA standards
- Manage team schedules, travel logistics, and meet coordination
- Develop individual athlete training plans and monitor progress
- Supervise student-athletes in compliance with school and OSAA athletic regulations
- Maintain a positive, inclusive team environment that emphasizes discipline, work ethic, and character
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated knowledge of wrestling fundamentals, techniques, and coaching practices
- Completion of all OSAA required coursework and certifications
- Experience coaching or teaching at the high school level (preferred)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Commitment to athlete safety, development, and academic success
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes from diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with Oregon athletic regulations and compliance requirements
