Clinical Practice Lead

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in a search for a Clinical Practice Lead. This is a remote role focused on building and owning the complete practice management infrastructure for a U.S.-based professional corporation delivering preventative care through a tech-enabled model.

You will be responsible for four core operational pillars: provider credentialing and primary source verification, SOP library organization and maintenance, provider onboarding operationalization, and compliance assurance. This is a systems-first role—you'll replace manual tracking with automated workflows, maintain audit-ready records, and ensure no provider ever sees a patient on a lapsed credential.

Responsibilities

Provider Credentialing & Primary Source Verification

• Run credentialing intake for every new provider: application, document collection, and verification at source
• Verify state medical/nursing licenses, board certification, education, training, work history, and DEA registration
• Operate the clear-to-practice gate—no provider sees patients until the credential file is complete and verified
• Maintain permitted scope by state for each provider and escalate any out-of-scope practice requests

Expirables, Re-Verification & Removal

• Own the expirables calendar for licenses, certifications, DEA registrations, malpractice coverage, and other time-limited credentials
• Drive renewals ahead of expiry using automated alerts and escalate at-risk renewals
• Remove clearance to practice immediately when a credential lapses and notify clinical rota owner and compliance leadership same-day
• Run re-verification cycles to prevent credential files from aging

Systems, Tooling & Automation

• Select, implement, and administer tooling that runs practice operations: credentialing records, expiry tracking, onboarding workflow, SOP version control
• Replace manual tracking with automated alerts, scheduled reporting, and system-driven handoffs
• Define data structures so status can be reported from the system rather than reconstructed
• Work with IT and engineering teams to integrate practice operations data with adjacent systems

SOP Organization & Maintenance

• Own the SOP library for U.S. practice operations: create, index, and version every procedure
• Review each SOP on a set cycle and update when processes change
• Retire outdated SOPs and flag processes running without documentation
• Keep SOPs easy to find and use for day-to-day staff

Onboarding Operationalization

• Turn each new provider's onboarding plan into a tracked sequence: credentialing, system access, training, clearance to start
• Own the onboarding timeline from offer to start date and flag delays proactively
• Coordinate with Talent Acquisition, People Team, and clinical operations to keep the sequence moving
• Improve the onboarding sequence as volume grows, including automation of tracking and reminders

Compliance Assurance

• Confirm U.S. practice operations meet standards set by Head of Compliance
• Run periodic checks and report gaps as they surface
• Support audits with evidence drawn from SOPs, onboarding records, and credentialing files
• Escalate compliance gaps requiring action beyond this role

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Experience streamlining clinical or healthcare operations in a tech-enabled environment—you've taken a manual, spreadsheet-run process and rebuilt it as a system-driven workflow
• Experience working in a clinical operations capacity where you were responsible for building the systems to ensure credentialing, compliance, and other clinical operations processes are handled excellently
• Confident with operational tooling: you configure and administer the systems you depend on and are comfortable working with data, reporting, and everyday automation
• Direct, hands-on experience with state medical board licensure and clinician credentialing processes, including primary source verification
• Experience maintaining a credentialing database or record system to an audit-ready standard
• Experience developing, organizing, and maintaining SOPs in a clinical or regulated operations setting
• Working knowledge of compliance standards in a healthcare or clinical operations setting, with experience checking operations against them
• Precise and persistent administrative skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a digital health, telehealth, or tech-enabled care setting where clinical operations run on product and tooling rather than paper
• Hands-on experience with credentialing or provider data platforms and workflow tracking tools
• Experience working alongside product or engineering teams to specify operational tooling requirements
• Direct experience with provider credentialing in a U.S. clinical setting, including multi-state credentialing
• Experience credentialing in a newly opened market or start-up clinical service where the process did not yet exist
• Experience building an SOP program from scratch in a growing or newly opened operation
