About This Opportunity

We are representing a rapidly expanding engineering firm in Germany that specializes in vehicle testing and technical inspections. This is an exceptional leadership opportunity for an experienced automotive testing engineer to take ownership of a cluster of inspection facilities in the Frankfurt/Hessen region.

Our client operates multiple testing centers and is looking for a hands-on leader who can balance strategic oversight with operational excellence. You'll lead a team of engineers and support staff while remaining active in technical inspections yourself.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of vehicle testing engineers and engineers-in-training, as well as testing assistants, across multiple facilities in your regional hub
• Take full accountability for performance metrics including revenue, quality standards, team development, and customer satisfaction
• Conduct regular interviews and trial days, make hiring decisions, and onboard new colleagues to independence within approximately two months
• Manage business operations using real-time data, ensuring optimal capacity utilization and quality across all locations
• Launch new testing facilities, coordinating timely operational readiness, regulatory connections, and full staffing by opening date
• Scale newly opened locations month-by-month from initial operations to target revenue levels
• Maintain active involvement in testing operations, including main and emissions inspections per §29 StVZO, modification approvals per §19 StVZO, and classic vehicle assessments per §23 StVZO
• Foster a positive team culture and maintain high employee engagement scores
• Ensure consistent testing quality and regulatory compliance across all facilities in coordination with oversight organizations

What We're Looking For

• Completed training as an automotive testing engineer (KFZ-Prüfingenieur) through recognized certification bodies
• Minimum 4 years of experience working as a testing engineer
• Previous team leadership experience or deputy facility management, or clear ambition to step into this leadership role
• Valid driving licenses: Classes A, B, and CE
• Willingness to travel regularly between facilities within your hub
• Professional appearance and excellent German language skills (C2 level)
• Comfort with data-driven decision-making and modern digital tools
