Founding Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential construction-tech startup in München that is building AI-driven automation for multi-unit residential planning. Our talent team is searching for a founding engineer to own the agent harness, data pipeline, and evaluation infrastructure that powers their end-to-end planning system.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll work directly alongside the founding team on real projects that ship immediately. You'll be the first technical hire with meaningful equity upside.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the agent harness: memory systems, tool orchestration, verification layers, and automated document generation to ensure consistent, code-compliant outputs at scale
• Design the data and context layer that transforms CAD/BIM models, PDFs, site surveys, and building codes into structured, traceable inputs for each planning phase
• Develop the evaluation framework including datasets, regression tests, and benchmarks that measure agent performance against architectural standards and regulatory requirements
• Integrate with industry-standard toolchains (Revit, ArchiCAD, IFC) to enable automated modeling and seamless interoperability
• Ship production code in a fast-moving startup environment where your work directly impacts client deliverables

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience with agent harness engineering, tool orchestration, and evaluation systems
• High agency and entrepreneurial mindset—you identify problems, propose solutions, and execute without waiting for direction
• Background in a high-growth startup, scale-up, or similarly fast-paced technical environment
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to work across the stack
• Preferred: German language skills, exposure to Revit/IFC/Grasshopper, experimentation with reinforcement learning (MCTS, GRPO, RLHF) or diffusion models, or a non-traditional career path that demonstrates creativity and initiative
