About This Opportunity

We are representing a rapidly expanding automotive engineering consultancy in Germany that specializes in vehicle inspections and technical assessments. Our client operates multiple testing facilities across Baden-Württemberg and is seeking an experienced automotive inspection engineer to lead their Stuttgart regional operations.

This is a unique leadership role combining hands-on technical work with strategic responsibility for a cluster of inspection facilities. You'll manage performance, team development, and customer satisfaction while contributing as a working engineer when needed.

Responsibilities

• Own the performance of a cluster of inspection facilities in the Stuttgart/Baden-Württemberg region, including revenue, quality metrics, team performance, and customer satisfaction
• Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to inspection engineers and assistants across your region
• Recruit, onboard, and develop team members through regular one-on-ones, feedback sessions, and coaching
• Build and maintain a high-performing, stable, and motivated team culture with clear vision and accountability
• Ensure smooth operations at all facilities, managing capacity utilization, throughput, and wait times
• Monitor and drive key performance indicators including regional revenue, revenue per engineer, equipment utilization, and inspection quality
• Manage scheduling for shifts, holidays, and staffing assignments across your team
• Provide operational support on-site during absences or peak demand periods
• Deliver excellent service experiences for both consumer and business customers
• Actively expand existing customer relationships and develop new partnerships in the region
• Track customer satisfaction scores, reviews, and complaints, implementing improvement measures
• Identify growth opportunities and process improvements, coordinating closely with headquarters functions
• Provide market insights and operational feedback to support expansion and product development

What We're Looking For

• Completed certification as automotive inspection engineer (Kfz-Prüfingenieur) through recognized programs
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a vehicle inspection engineer; prior leadership or facility management experience strongly preferred
• Valid German driving licenses: Classes A, B, and CE
• Willingness to travel regularly within the Baden-Württemberg region
• Strong understanding of KPIs and business fundamentals with genuine interest in owning revenue and bottom-line results
• Professional presence with excellent communication skills; German proficiency at C2 level required
• Hands-on, pragmatic working style balanced with high quality standards
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to balance operational execution and strategic thinking
