Controller*in Senior / Business Analyst*in (m/w/d) in Bonn

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization in Bonn seeking a Senior Controller / Business Analyst to modernize their financial analytics through business intelligence, predictive analytics, and AI solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Act as strategic advisor to internal departments on budgets, ongoing expenses, and forecasts, identifying critical financial developments and challenges
• Collaborate with business units to evaluate key performance indicators, conduct in-depth analyses, and recommend appropriate action plans
• Support cost-benefit analyses and business case development, providing economic perspective and critical evaluation of objectives and assumptions
• Perform ad-hoc analyses to assess current business developments and anomalies, preparing findings for stakeholder consumption
• Design and develop new reports and dashboards to ensure transparency of relevant trends, with a focus on automation
• Create user-friendly data analysis tools including self-service solutions, dashboards, and data models leveraging AI technologies
• Document tool architecture, usage, and functionality while maintaining and evolving solutions based on business needs
• Support annual budgeting processes and related approval workflows
• Serve as primary liaison for accounting colleagues
• Monitor emerging trends in data analytics, business intelligence, predictive analytics, and AI to shape future controlling strategies

What We're Looking For

• Completed university degree or equivalent qualification
• Several years of relevant professional experience in controlling, business analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis
• Proven experience designing and implementing complex analytical, reporting, and management solutions
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and business acumen with excellent methodology and problem-solving capabilities
• Independent, structured work approach with enthusiasm for taking ownership and advising business units
• Confident presence, strong communication skills, and ability to influence diverse stakeholders
• Experience working with KPIs, dashboards, business cases, and modern analytics and BI tools
• Proactive engagement with current developments and trends in data analytics, business intelligence, and AI
• German language proficiency required for this Bonn-based position
