About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential non-profit organization based in Bonn, Germany, seeking a working student to support their information security team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across audits, security processes, and IT security projects while completing your studies.

You'll contribute to ISO 27001 compliance efforts, emergency management planning, and modern security concepts including AI in IT security, Zero Trust architecture, and cloud security initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and coordination of security audits, information security forums, and emergency response exercises
• Help maintain and update security processes, guidelines, and documentation to ensure clarity and current relevance
• Assist with operation of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and understand key influencing factors
• Participate in security projects from research through prototyping phases, covering topics such as AI in IT security, Zero Trust, and cloud security
• Review and process central security information as part of continuous improvement efforts
• Contribute to updates of emergency plans, security policies, and operational handbooks

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related degree program
• Foundational knowledge of networks and operating systems
• Interest in ISO 27001 standards and Information Security Management Systems
• Initial exposure to data protection and information security legislation is desirable
• Strong communication skills and collaborative team spirit
• Self-motivated with enthusiasm for learning
• German language proficiency required for this Bonn-based role

Working Arrangements

• 15-20 hours per week with flexible scheduling that accommodates your studies
• Hybrid work model with option to work partially from home
• Position is temporary through end of December 2024
• Based in Bonn, Germany
