Senior Staff Product Manager, Browser Control Platform

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential open-source technology organization seeking a Senior Staff Product Manager to own their browser control platform. This is a strategic, hands-on role building the secure foundation that enables both internal teams and external tools to programmatically interact with their browser product.

You will:

• Own the shared platform layer and API building blocks that enable external software and internal teams to control browser functionality reliably and securely
• Drive forward open web standards while building proprietary advantages where the standard doesn't reach
• Design user safety and transparency controls—allowing end users to approve automated actions, monitor when software is acting on their behalf, and maintain ultimate control
• Define go-to-market strategy for integrating major third-party AI assistants and automation tools
• Serve as the platform owner for both internal product teams and external developer ecosystems through a unified technical contract
• Balance competing priorities across consumer-facing features, internal platform needs, and external developer adoption

Success will be measured on platform adoption across teams and tools, usage volume, and sustained reliability and security metrics.

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone who operates at the intersection of deep technical understanding and product strategy:

• You're either a product-minded engineer or a highly technical PM capable of driving complex platform products
• Proven experience in developer platform or tooling spaces, with the range to think about both end consumers and internal platform customers
• Comfortable setting strategy in ambiguous, greenfield environments where you must define what to build and in what sequence
• Track record owning technical contracts and APIs that other teams depend on
• Strong instincts around security, trust, and user control in automated systems
• Bonus: experience with web standards processes, browser automation protocols, or similar control plane technologies

This is a senior individual contributor role requiring strategic thinking, technical depth, and the ability to move fast in a rapidly evolving space around AI-assisted browsing and automation.
