We are seeking a Graduate Student Research Assistant to support cutting-edge work at the intersection of survey methodology and artificial intelligence. This is a part-time position (40 hours per month) working with a specialized team that develops data quality assessment tools and methodologies for the social sciences.
Responsibilities
- Co-develop a data quality analysis pipeline using R and Python, integrating existing packages and creating new workflows for detecting quality issues in AI-generated survey data
- Collect, process, and analyze survey data, including synthetically generated datasets
- Research literature and software tools related to evaluation metrics for AI-generated survey data and data quality assessment
- Prepare technical documentation and presentations for research findings
- Provide administrative support for AI-related survey research projects and service offerings
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Social Data Science, Computational Social Science, Data Science, Big Data, or a quantitative-focused Social Science degree (Sociology, Political Science, or related)
- Strong programming skills in R; experience with Python is highly valued
- Solid understanding of statistical concepts and methods, with demonstrated ability to apply them in practice
- Prior experience processing and analyzing social science datasets
- Reliable, rigorous, and independent problem-solver who can work with minimal supervision
- Proficient in English; knowledge of German is a plus
