Senior IT Services Lead (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior IT Services Lead for their Heidelberg location. In this role, you will provide technical leadership for the IT services team, serving as a key partner to both the team and IT management while ensuring smooth daily operations and reliable service delivery.

You will work hands-on in IT support when needed, providing assistance with complex requests and IT incidents while actively contributing your technical expertise. You'll coordinate and prioritize team tasks, ensuring clear accountability, balanced workload distribution, and reliable coverage arrangements.

This position involves continuously developing IT service processes, standards, and documentation while identifying opportunities for standardization and automation. You'll recognize recurring problems and inefficient workflows, implementing sustainable improvements to enhance service quality and efficiency. Close collaboration with IT management on priorities, escalations, and improvement initiatives will be essential, as you take on operational coordination of the team.

What We're Looking For

• Degree or training in IT or comparable practical experience with at least 5 years of professional experience in IT services, IT operations, or IT support—ideally with experience in technical team leadership
• Strong technical expertise combined with a hands-on mentality and enthusiasm for both developing solutions yourself and providing technical support to others
• Experience with IT service management, ticket and request management, documentation, and process standards
• Ability to set priorities, coordinate workloads, and ensure reliable service delivery in a dynamic environment
• Strong knowledge of workplace IT, identity and access management, endpoint management, and SaaS applications
• Track record of optimizing processes and identifying opportunities for standardization, automation, and efficiency improvements
• Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) based in Heidelberg with up to two days of mobile office option per week. The role offers the flexibility of working occasionally from within the EU, along with flexible working hours and a modern, collaborative work environment.
