Associate Director, Telecommunications Business Development

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology consultancy seeking an Associate Director of Business Development to lead telecommunications market initiatives across Europe. In this role, you will drive substantial business growth by identifying and engaging prospective clients, developing trusted relationships with senior executives, and closing complex, high-value technical sales.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with C-level executives at telecommunications organizations
• Developing an extensive network of senior contacts who lead innovation and technology research initiatives
• Identifying new client opportunities and guiding internal teams using market intelligence
• Leading consultative sales processes that uncover client needs and shape cutting-edge technical solutions
• Negotiating scope, pricing, deliverables, and contract terms to successfully close deals
• Coordinating cross-functional teams across diverse technical expertise areas to deliver client value

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is an ambitious, entrepreneurial business development leader with deep telecommunications industry knowledge and a proven track record in technical sales.

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of professional experience in business development, technical sales, or relevant industry positions
• Demonstrated success in complex, high-value technical sales with ability to personally close deals
• Deep knowledge of telecommunications market players, industry trends, and emerging technologies including 5G, 6G, non-terrestrial networks, massive MIMO, AI applications, virtualization, and custom radio solutions
• Experience in consultative business development, exploring client ambitions and developing innovative propositions
• Strong presentation and communication skills for engaging with executive-level clients
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline
• Must be located in the United Kingdom
