About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior User Research Manager to lead research strategy across their core personal banking products. This role sits within a product area serving millions of daily users and will shape how customer insights inform strategic decisions across multiple product teams.

The position is based in Cardiff with flexible remote options across the UK. Our client can provide visa sponsorship and relocation support for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

As Senior User Research Manager, you will:

• Lead research across core banking product areas while shaping a coherent research strategy spanning multiple product domains
• Partner closely with product directors, design leaders, and senior stakeholders across wealth, payments, borrowing, and international markets
• Define and implement elements of a global research operating model as the organization expands internationally
• Connect customer insights across teams, identifying themes, opportunities, and gaps beyond individual product silos
• Synthesize existing research, product data, market insights, and quantitative evidence to inform leadership decisions
• Manage managers and support approximately 6-8 direct and indirect reports while maintaining high research quality standards
• Create an environment where researchers balance methodological rigor with the pace needed to ship products
• Bring together disparate customer insights into coherent strategic narratives that influence company direction

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone with proven experience in:

• Leading senior researchers and research managers within complex product organizations
• Shaping and influencing product strategy through research at organizational and executive levels
• Working across multiple product areas and synthesizing insights into strategic recommendations
• Navigating complex stakeholder environments with competing priorities, metrics, and timelines
• Partnering with product, design, engineering, and data science leaders to influence roadmaps and business strategy
• Combining qualitative research with quantitative signals, product data, and market insights
• Building alignment across large organizations and implementing new ways of working with multidisciplinary teams
• Coaching research leaders while maintaining quality standards across multiple teams
• Making thoughtful trade-offs between research depth, pace, and business impact

This role requires someone who can operate at both strategic and tactical levels—influencing executive decisions while developing the next generation of research leaders.
