Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential online marketplace client seeking an Expert Model Trains specialist to curate high-quality auctions that engage collectors and sellers worldwide. In this remote role, you will leverage your deep knowledge of model trains to evaluate, arrange, and present compelling weekly auction lots.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Evaluating and organizing model train submissions to ensure attractive and relevant auction listings
• Creating compelling weekly lot selections using your specialist expertise and professional network
• Reviewing titles, descriptions, and images to assess quality and provide accurate estimated values
• Ensuring transparent and fair transactions through consistent expert evaluation
• Communicating rejections professionally while maintaining strong seller relationships
• Collaborating with sales teams to attract new sellers and diversify the range and quality of lots
• Partnering with marketing to increase bidder engagement and visibility for your auctions

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a true specialist who brings both expertise and commercial acumen to this role:

• Expert-level knowledge in model trains, including brands, rarity, condition assessment, and valuation
• Strong commercial acumen with documented commercial experience in collectibles or auctions
• An eye for trade and value within the collectibles market
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle user disputes diplomatically
• An established network of potential sellers and experts within the model trains community
• Good computer skills and confidence working with digital platforms and tools
• Good command of English, both written and spoken

This is a 100% remote position available to candidates based in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, or the United Kingdom.
