Data Analytics Senior Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization in their search for a Data Analytics Senior Manager. Our client is a profitable, growth-stage platform operating in the financial services sector, and they need an experienced analytics leader to transform their data function from reactive reporting to strategic decision support.

This is a hybrid role based in London, requiring at least one day per week in the office.

Responsibilities

You will work closely with senior leadership to evolve the analytics function and drive commercial impact through data. Your core responsibilities include:

• Setting the analytics roadmap and prioritizing delivery to focus on high-impact commercial work
• Establishing and growing data science capability within the function, reducing low-value activity to create capacity for advanced analytics
• Driving measurable adoption of self-serve analytics across Growth, Engagement, Partnerships, and other business areas through training, support, and tracking uptake
• Rebalancing delivery accountability by working with cross-functional leads to shift ownership of insights back to business teams
• Line managing Data Analysts and Senior Data Analysts, setting clear expectations for quality, delivery, and behavior
• Leading the adoption of modern tooling and applied data science methods, building team capability through coaching and structured development
• Operating as a credible authority with C-Suite stakeholders, challenging assumptions with evidence and clearly articulating what the data supports
• Defending analytical methodology under scrutiny and exercising independent judgment on when insights require escalation
• Owning complex, high-impact analytical work including methodology selection, assumptions, and interpretation
• Ensuring all outputs are trusted, contextualised, reproducible, and governance-aligned before informing decisions

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings significant experience in data analytics leadership with a proven track record of transformation:

• Significant experience in data analytics, including ownership of high-stakes analysis and operation as a hybrid IC/manager
• Demonstrated ability to manage C-Suite stakeholders with the gravitas to influence at senior levels and the confidence to challenge when necessary
• Proven track record landing self-serve analytics adoption with measurable outcomes such as falling ad hoc request volume and teams confidently self-serving
• Experience rebalancing accountability in matrixed environments, including working with product or tribe leadership to shift ownership of data insights
• Experience building partnerships across functions with tribe leads, product managers, and operational teams to drive adoption
• Strong hands-on technical capability including SQL, Power BI, and Python or similar tools
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to hold the line on quality and methodology when it matters
• Experience taking a data function through genuine transformation from reactive to predictive, commercially-driven insights
