Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential manufacturing client in Marlow seeking a Software Developer to join their in-house IT team. In this role, you will build and maintain custom business applications using Python and open-source technologies.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing Python-based modules and custom applications on an enterprise resource planning platform
• Building and enhancing internal employee applications for communication, time tracking, and digital services
• Creating APIs and interfaces to connect additional systems
• Digitizing and automating business processes across departments
• Collaborating with functional teams on technical design and implementation
• Advancing the organization's open-source software ecosystem

You will work on solutions that directly impact day-to-day operations and colleague productivity. This role offers substantial creative freedom to shape the client's future technology landscape with a strategic focus on technological independence through open source.

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or comparable training such as IT Specialist for Application Development
• Practical experience in software development
• Strong Python programming skills
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Understanding of REST APIs and system interfaces
• Familiarity with Git and Docker
• Interest in Linux and open-source technologies
• Independent and structured working style
• Team collaboration and communication abilities
• Good German and English language skills

Beneficial experience:

• Odoo/OpenERP module development
• CI/CD pipelines
• API development and system integration
• PostgreSQL or MS-SQL administration
• .NET or Kubernetes knowledge
