Retail Manager – Travel Retail, Northern Europe

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential luxury beauty organization seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead their Travel Retail operations across Northern Europe, based in Paris. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering a dynamic region with significant growth potential.

Our client is a global beauty brand with presence in over 50 markets, known for innovative retail experiences and industry-leading growth. As Retail Manager, you'll build retailer relationships, lead field teams of business managers and retail artists, and drive commercial success across travel retail locations in Northern Europe.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement development strategies for designated travel retail accounts in collaboration with senior leadership
• Deliver sell-out performance in line with forecast commitments and drive market share gains
• Build strong relationships with retailer contacts to optimize brand presence and negotiate joint trading plans
• Lead quarterly business reviews and half-year strategy meetings with data-driven insights and action plans
• Recruit, lead, and inspire high-performing teams of business managers and retail artists across multiple locations
• Set ambitious sales targets and address performance needs while fostering an inclusive, motivated team environment
• Collaborate with marketing and visual merchandising teams to launch new products and campaigns
• Manage monthly retail forecasting by store and oversee all retail staffing costs including FTEs, commissions, and incentives
• Control travel and entertainment budget within approved monthly expenditure
• Ensure operational excellence including assortment planning, stock availability, and price updates

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in Retail or Sales Management; direct Travel Retail experience desirable but not mandatory
• Strong people leadership skills with proven ability to develop and motivate teams
• Demonstrated success in negotiations and influencing stakeholders at all levels
• Target-focused and results-driven approach with excellent numerical and analytical capabilities
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with structured presentation abilities
• Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Solution-oriented mindset with timely problem-solving skills
• Agile and adaptable to changing business needs
• Mandatory French language proficiency
• Ability to travel approximately 40% of the time within region and to head office
