Pricing & Commercial Strategy Director, WPP Open

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential advertising and media organization in their search for a Pricing & Commercial Strategy Director. This director-level role is essential to driving revenue growth and optimizing pricing strategies for a next-generation marketing platform.

You will lead pricing strategy development for self-service platform offerings, conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Your work will include developing and maintaining sophisticated pricing models and tools, using data-driven insights to inform ongoing refinements to pricing approaches.

In partnership with account teams and network commercial groups, you will develop compelling, competitive pricing proposals for new and existing clients. You will serve as the subject matter expert on deal constructs, special pricing, and troubleshooting of deal issues and sales escalations. Negotiating pricing and contractual terms with clients will be a core responsibility, as will providing quick, accurate responses to internal pricing inquiries.

You will create and deliver pricing communication materials—including pricing guides, value propositions, and training sessions—for internal and external stakeholders. Effectively communicating pricing changes and updates across the organization will be critical.

On the analytical side, you will conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses using internal financials and external benchmarks to support pricing strategy development. You will track and analyze key pricing metrics to monitor performance, identify improvement areas, and prepare regular reports on pricing performance and trends.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a candidate with proven experience in pricing, commercial strategy, or a related role within the media or advertising industry. You must bring strong analytical skills and experience with financial modeling.

Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential—you should be able to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely. You must have a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, along with strong negotiation and influencing skills.

Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software (such as pricing optimization tools and CRM systems) is required. You should be agile and flexible, with solid project management skills.

Experience with programmatic pricing models and platforms is a plus. Knowledge of different media buying models (CPM, CPC, CPA) is essential. Familiarity with pricing software and tools is desirable.
