Senior Decision Scientist, Trust & Safety

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential marketplace technology organization seeking a Senior Decision Scientist to join their Trust & Safety function in Berlin. Our client operates at significant scale across European markets, and this role sits within a cross-functional Detection team focused on protecting users from harmful activities and inappropriate content.

As a Decision Scientist embedded within a product team, you will drive quality decisions through actionable data insights. You'll lead hypothesis-driven experimentation, translate complex data into product improvements, and design rigorous experiments that deliver measurable impact while maintaining high standards of data quality and accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations that answer critical business questions
• Collaborate with other decision scientists to detect and investigate specific fraud patterns and trust violations
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments to validate opportunities and understand business impact using statistical methods and visualization tools
• Select, calculate, and monitor key performance indicators for your team, proactively identifying issues, running root cause analyses, and flagging concerns
• Enable team members and direct stakeholders to independently leverage data through self-service dashboards and analytics tools
• Contribute to a data-driven culture by promoting best practices in analytics and decision-making across the organization

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in a Decision Science or Data Analytics role
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance depth of analysis with business impact
• Proficiency with SQL and Python for data analytics and statistical analysis
• Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
• Solid knowledge of statistical methods including A/B testing, regression analysis, and other inferential techniques
• Results-oriented mindset and comfort with iterative, agile processes
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex results convincingly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
• Advantage: experience working in Trust & Safety or fraud-related areas
• Advantage: previous experience working in product teams

Pay

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Berlin with a hybrid work model (2 recommended office days per week). The client offers the opportunity to work remotely within the EU for extended periods during the year. While no specific compensation has been provided for publication through Get A Job.ai at this time, the client's salary range for this position is competitive within the German market for senior data science roles.
