Our client, a confidential data consultancy, is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join their integration team in Hamburg. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to build expertise in scalable data architectures and pipelines across diverse industries including manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, build, and maintenance of data pipelines tailored to client business requirements
  • Assist in maintaining and optimizing data infrastructure for ETL/ELT processes across various data sources
  • Build, test, and deploy data artifacts on cloud platforms using modern version control practices
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure data accuracy, integrity, privacy, security, and compliance through quality assurance methods
  • Monitor data pipeline performance and identify optimization opportunities
  • Work closely with client staff as part of agile project teams

What We're Looking For

  • Solid foundational knowledge of data modeling concepts and modern data warehousing architectures
  • Proficiency in Python and strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating complex datasets
  • Hands-on experience with Git for version control and collaborative development
  • Practical exposure to or understanding of cloud environments (Azure or AWS)
  • Eagerness to learn new ETL/ELT tools, cloud technologies, and software engineering practices
  • Strong problem-solving attitude with an enthusiastic, proactive approach to learning
  • Ability to work independently on delegated tasks and collaboratively within agile teams
  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German (C1 level) and English (B2 level)
