Finance & AI Automation Intern (Remote Part-time)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data technology organization based in Europe that serves Fortune 500 clients across multiple continents. Our talent team is recruiting for a Finance & AI Automation Intern to join their remote finance operations.

This is a genuine finance role with immediate operational responsibility across multi-entity accounting, combined with hands-on AI automation work. You'll run core finance processes—invoice processing, month-end reporting, payroll preparation, expense management, and intercompany transactions—then systematically automate them using Claude, ChatGPT, and purpose-built tools. This isn't observational; you'll own processes from week one.

Responsibilities

• Execute core finance operations: process invoices, prepare month-end reports, manage payroll data, handle expense reconciliation, and coordinate intercompany charges across multiple legal entities and currencies
• Design and implement AI-driven automations using Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub integrations, or advanced spreadsheet solutions—choosing the right tool for each process
• Build verification into every automation: create reconciliation controls and accuracy checks that validate output before human review
• Maintain clear documentation that serves both human colleagues and AI agents
• Support the finance team with reporting, analysis, and ad-hoc projects spanning European and US operations
• Identify manual bottlenecks proactively and propose automation solutions

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Academic background in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field (currently pursuing or recently completed degree)
• Demonstrated experience building with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) and/or creating automations, scripts, or advanced spreadsheet solutions—you must be able to show examples and explain your validation approach
• Exceptional accuracy as a core habit: you notice discrepancies instinctively and verify numbers before signing off
• Self-directed learning capability with new tools: can adopt finance systems, GitHub, and API-based integrations independently
• Proactive mindset: you identify repetitive work and propose solutions rather than accepting manual processes
• Fluent English, written and spoken
• Availability during European business hours (fully remote from compatible time zones)

Preferred:

• Experience with accounting software (Exact Online, QuickBooks) or ERP systems
• Exposure to Python, SQL, or API-based automation
• Previous startup or fast-paced environment experience
