About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential creative agency with a strong international presence in the social media and digital marketing space. They are seeking a Group Account Director with deep automotive industry expertise to join their Munich office and lead one of their most significant client relationships.
This is a senior leadership position requiring both strategic vision and hands-on account orchestration. You'll be the primary point of contact for a complex, multi-market automotive account, managing cross-functional teams and driving commercial growth while maintaining the highest standards of creative excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and commercial oversight for a complex international automotive account, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth
- Build and maintain senior-level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and sparring partner
- Proactively identify opportunities and risks, facilitating decision-making and driving initiatives forward independently
- Orchestrate collaboration across client service, strategy, creative, media, and production disciplines
- Manage complex account structures, workflows, and international market setups with clear accountability frameworks
- Oversee budgets, forecasts, scope, and overall account profitability
- Lead and develop the account team, fostering ownership and autonomy among team members
- Ensure high strategic and creative quality across all workstreams and deliverables
- Identify and develop business growth opportunities within existing client relationships
- Handle critical situations and escalations with composure, developing concrete solutions
What We're Looking For
- Multiple years of experience in senior client service or account leadership roles on the agency side
- Proven track record managing large, complex accounts with international scope
- Automotive industry experience and understanding of large automotive brand structures – this is essential
- Strong strategic and commercial consulting capabilities
- Confidence and authority in working with senior stakeholders
- Experience leading and developing teams effectively
- Independent decision-making skills and ability to set priorities in complex environments
- Strong ownership mindset – you proactively create clarity, develop solutions, and drive topics forward rather than waiting for escalation
- Excellent German and English language skills (both required)
- Based in or willing to relocate to Munich, Germany
