Connectivity Director

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential travel technology organization seeking a Connectivity Director to lead the technical and commercial relationship between their platform and the reservation systems used by supplier partners. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will define connectivity strategy, build executive-level relationships with technology partners, and work directly alongside engineers to solve complex integration challenges.

In this role, you will:

• Define and own the connectivity strategy, establishing a clear vision for supplier and reservation system integrations aligned to broader technical objectives including faster releases, improved observability, and AI-driven efficiencies
• Build and maintain C-suite level relationships with technology and supplier partners, serving as the senior technical representative in strategic conversations
• Stay hands-on with API design, integration architecture, and connectivity troubleshooting—this is not a purely strategic position
• Lead, grow, and mentor a team of tech leads and engineers, with responsibility for building or transforming teams on a global scale
• Partner closely with Product teams to shape the connectivity roadmap in a product-oriented environment
• Drive innovation by introducing new technologies and creating opportunities for technical creativity within your team
• Own escalation and resolution of complex operational and connectivity issues, ensuring seamless transactions and integrations at scale
• Oversee configuration, monitoring, and testing of supplier integrations while continuously improving supporting tools and processes
• Adapt quickly and positively as priorities, team structure, or remit evolve

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a leader who combines deep technical expertise with strategic vision and relationship-building capabilities:

• 10+ years of experience in technical leadership, connectivity strategy, or product engineering, ideally within travel technology or B2B SaaS environments
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of APIs and integration technologies, with genuine understanding of how connectivity platforms work end-to-end
• Proven track record building C-suite level relationships with technology and supplier partners
• Experience defining technical strategy and delivering against it in a hands-on capacity
• Demonstrated experience as a true partner to Product teams, ideally on customer-facing platforms or applications
• Inclusive, non-hierarchical leadership style with proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing global engineering teams
• Comfort working in fast-moving environments and adapting quickly to changing priorities or organizational structure
• Excellent communication and management skills with the technical credibility to engage directly with engineering teams
• Data-driven mindset with ability to design and build relevant reporting and analytics
• Strategic vision to translate complex technical challenges into clear, long-term roadmaps
• Executive presence and ability to influence at senior levels both internally and externally

Location: Remote position based in the United Kingdom, ideally in or around London. Occasional travel to company offices as necessary.
