Junior Ops Engineer – Apprenticeship (f/m/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential e-commerce technology organization seeking a Junior Ops Engineer for an apprenticeship-based role in Lille, France. You will join a dedicated operations team supporting a multi-product digital platform that enables seamless customer experiences across web and retail touchpoints.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting product teams with production incidents, component configuration, architecture improvements, deployment assistance, best practices guidance, risk analysis, disaster recovery testing, monitoring, and cost optimization
• Optimizing and maintaining cloud infrastructure built on Kubernetes clusters and managed services
• Contributing to the internal self-service infrastructure platform through feature requests, implementation, testing, and documentation reviews
• Participating in team decisions and helping shape the technical roadmap
• Working with a fully automated infrastructure-as-code environment

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks candidates with:

• Meaningful initial experience through university projects, internships, or apprenticeships in a similar technical environment
• Strong technical foundation with exposure to cloud platforms, containerization, and infrastructure automation
• Familiarity with technologies such as: GCP (GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Storage), Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Flux, GitHub, monitoring tools (Datadog/OpenTelemetry), and managed data services (PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, OpenSearch)
• Strong aptitude for teamwork and knowledge sharing
• Curiosity, motivation, and proactive approach to problem-solving
• French language proficiency for this Lille-based position
• Eligibility for apprenticeship contracts in France (2-3 year duration)
