Data Protection Specialist (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential financial services organization seeking a Data Protection Specialist to join their Legal, Data Protection, and Compliance team in Dormagen, Germany. This role offers the opportunity to actively shape data protection practices and implement regulatory requirements in a practical, business-focused environment.

As part of our client's team, you will handle data protection matters, support data subject requests, and advise internal departments on new and modified processes. You'll work closely with business units to ensure data protection is effectively and clearly implemented in daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Independently review and assess data protection matters under GDPR and German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG)
• Process data subject access requests, data protection complaints, and individual cases, including preparation of well-founded responses
• Advise business departments on new and adjusted processes and support evaluation of data protection breaches
• Draft and review data protection contracts, particularly data processing agreements
• Coordinate closely with the Group Data Protection Coordinator and support implementation of group-wide data protection requirements

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in Business Administration, Law, Business Law, or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in data protection law
• Very strong knowledge of GDPR and German data protection regulations
• Practical experience with data subject rights, data protection complaints, and data protection contracts
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style
• Experience in data protection within a regulated company, particularly in financial services or collections environments, is advantageous
• Excellent German and English language skills, written and spoken

Location and Work Arrangement

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Dormagen (Kieler Straße 16). Our client offers up to three days per week remote work, 30 vacation days, and transparent time tracking for excellent work-life balance.
