Assistant Estimator

Utilities One, a US-based infrastructure services provider, is hiring a full-time Assistant Estimator to join our India operations. This is an on-site position supporting our telecom, power, water, renewable energy, and data centre projects.

Position Summary

As Assistant Estimator at Utilities One, you will support our senior estimating team in preparing accurate cost projections and technical assessments across utility infrastructure projects. This role bridges field operations and office-based estimation, requiring both technical acumen and practical site knowledge. You'll develop your estimating expertise whilst contributing meaningfully to proposal development, cost analysis, and project scoping in a collaborative environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Gather and analyse project data, site measurements, and technical specifications for cost estimation purposes
• Support the preparation of detailed estimates for telecom, power, water, and renewable energy infrastructure work
• Conduct site visits and surveys to collect information and verify project scope
• Research material costs, labour rates, and subcontractor pricing in the Indian market
• Compile and organise cost data using estimation software and spreadsheet tools
• Assist in preparing proposal documentation and bid support materials
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and senior estimators to validate estimate accuracy
• Maintain detailed records of assumptions, methodologies, and calculation workings

What We're Looking For

• Diploma or degree in engineering, quantity surveying, or a related technical discipline
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn specialised estimation software
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements
• Reliable communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork
• Genuine interest in infrastructure, utilities, or construction sectors
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required
