Senior Content & Editorial Manager (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential metals industry client seeking a Senior Content & Editorial Manager to lead their content quality and editorial operations across all channels. You will own the content calendar, quality standards, and production workflows while working closely with marketing leadership on strategic direction.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Establishing and maintaining quality standards for all published content—written, visual, and video—and approving materials independently after an initial calibration period with leadership
• Building and managing the editorial calendar with at least six weeks advance planning across blog, social media, newsletter, website, and knowledge resources
• Writing and editing blog posts, website copy, whitepapers (quarterly), newsletters, and social content; developing editorial concepts, scripts, and creative briefs
• Planning and executing video shoots and photo sessions, including concept development, scriptwriting, coordinating talent and freelance crews, on-site supervision, and post-production approval
• Managing freelancers and specialist contractors through clear briefing, coordination, and brand-compliant review
• Developing original content formats and series; conducting customer and industry expert interviews
• Writing and optimizing SEO-conscious content using keyword guidance (technical SEO and analytics sit elsewhere)
• Overseeing content distribution across all channels, managing weekly scheduling and approvals
• Reviewing monthly performance data (prepared by others) and collaborating with leadership to refine topics, formats, and channel strategy
• Supporting trade events with announcements, materials, and follow-up content

A future development opportunity includes taking on press relations after successful onboarding.

What We're Looking For

You bring a trained eye for quality content across text, image, design, and video. You can evaluate creative work professionally, brief collaborators precisely, recognize when output needs refinement, and articulate your editorial decisions clearly.

Essential qualifications:

• Exceptional writing ability in German as your core craft skill—please include writing samples with your application
• Several years of professional experience managing multiple formats and creative disciplines, ideally from agency project or account management
• Fluent German with excellent command of written language
• Confidence working with technical subject matter: you independently research complex topics and adapt them for different audiences
• Foundational SEO understanding (you can deepen keyword research skills on the job)
• Production experience planning, attending, and professionally reviewing video shoots and photo sessions; occasional travel required
• WordPress content management skills for structured publishing (no development required)
• Experience with project management tools such as Asana
• Strong communication skills, comfort conducting interviews, and the habit of explaining decisions rather than simply making them

Valuable additions:

• Hands-on skills in design, photography, or video production
• Basic editing capabilities
• Experience with multilingual content (German/English/Dutch)
• Interest in craftsmanship or specialized manufacturing

If you also have visual design sensibility—an eye for layout, imagery, and video—that combination of writing and visual judgment represents the strongest profile for this role, though you need not be an art director or cinematographer.
