HR Business Partner (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential precious metals organization with operations across Central Europe. Our talent team is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner (m/w/d) to serve as the central HR expert for their German operations in the Düsseldorf/Cologne metropolitan area. This role offers 32–40 hours per week with 1–2 home office days.

You will act as a strategic partner to operations leadership and regional managers, connecting hands-on execution with long-term HR strategy. Our client is in a deliberate phase of HR professionalization, giving you significant latitude to shape processes, policies, and build a sustainable HR foundation for growth.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic sparring partner for the Operations Manager Germany, regional leaders, and central HR leadership
• Provide expert consultation on German labor law, organizational development, and change management initiatives
• Translate corporate guidelines into legally sound, practical local HR solutions
• Manage employment contracts under BGB and ensure compliant personnel file administration
• Proactively identify needs, coach leadership, and determine when to advise, intervene, or empower managers to act independently
• Design and implement HR processes, policies, and initiatives that drive business value
• Conduct regular site visits to remain close to operations and strengthen leadership culture
• Handle HR analytics and reporting using HR management systems
• Coordinate with external partners including social insurance carriers and tax advisors

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed business degree (Fachhochschule/Bachelor), ideally with focus on HR management, or comparable qualification such as business law or certified HR specialist (Geprüfte/r Personalfachkaufmann/-frau)
• Approximately 5+ years of substantial HR experience, preferably in an international or German-Dutch mid-sized matrix organization
• Deep knowledge of modern HR processes with proven experience in organizational development, change management, and strategic HR fields
• Expert-level knowledge of German labor law (NachwG, BUrlG, KSchG, BGB, BetrVG)
• Strong understanding of German social insurance law (health, pension, unemployment, long-term care, accident insurance) plus SGB, ArbSchG, DSGVO, AGG, and HinSchG
• Negotiation-level German proficiency (written and spoken at legally secure standard) and very strong English (C2 level); Dutch is advantageous for group communication
• Experience with HR management systems (AFAS preferred) and strong numerical skills for HR analytics
• Solution-oriented mindset with decisiveness, excellent communication and persuasion skills, organizational sensitivity, and analytical judgment
• Comfort operating in environments with short decision paths and flexibility to shift seamlessly between strategic consulting and operational execution

Pay

The client offers a gross annual salary between €65,000 and €75,000 (full-time 40-hour basis), depending on qualifications and experience.
